Freelancing is one of the popular fields amongst every age group in 2020. With so many options to consider, freelancing comes up as an opportunity for the people who don’t want to restrict themselves in a boundary. However, doing freelancing isn’t a cup of tea for everyone, you need to be consistent, and struggle to get off with your dreams.

My journey was just similar, like a mountaineer who climbs up and down on steep paths. As to be successful, you need to tackle that pain in the ass which may sometimes lead you towards depression and anxiety. And I think I was lucky enough to get rid of that pain sooner.

My Developing Journey

In 2014, I started my development journey with a primary job. Soon, like any other developer, I seek the opportunity, and just after the six months of the basic job, I get connected with an agency. This was something bigger, and exciting for me to work with an agency that serves brands. I was sure to have a bright future with the agency as with time; I managed to get promotions and served as a team lead.

A Step Towards Freelancing

Within 4 years, I got promotions, increments, and was doing a well-stable job. But as you know, life is full of experimentation, so I did it myself. During these 4 years, one of my best friends forced me to join Fiverr, just to earn a bit extra to your income. This was the time in 2017 when I was just wondering what would happen next.

And as you know, the friends are meant to distract 😅, this crazy friend of mine pushed me to this freelancing world. Within 10–15 days, I manage to get my first order worth $100 USD. This was the inspiration for me, which encouraged me to pay attention to Fiverr in my spare time. So, I continued my job and started doing freelancing in my spare time.

Freelancing Journey While Working In A Corporate

Just after I completed five years in the same company, I started thinking about the job. I had so many offers from other agencies, but this time, I said goodbye to a 9 to 5 job forever.

In the beginning, I didn’t have any order on Fiverr, nor have I maintained any top ratings on my Fiverr account. So why did I quit the job? I don’t know about others, but sometimes your inner heart predicts your future. And it revolutionized my life. With time, I get familiar with freelancing platforms. I started looking for bigger clients and set goals that keep me awake at night. I managed to become a Top-Rated Seller through my dedication and smart work, just within 15 months. I didn’t lose hope and started running my own company Devmont Digital with other experts. And that’s how I managed to become a CEO just starting from scratch.

Learn from The Experience

My journey towards freelancing was not as smooth as it looks. Of course, spending years in a job was just like an addiction to me. Even when you are getting a higher salary, and at the same time, you start thinking of breaking the stereotype, it makes you scared and makes you think what would happen if you couldn’t get successful?

Just like any other person, I was thinking the same. But I knew that this is the age where I have potential, I can do far better than working in an organization. Hence, now in 2020, I’m running my own company Devmont Digital; we are a team of 15 people working under one umbrella. With many others, I become a hope for people like you who want to start freelancing. Let’s discuss the tips that will help you to know more about freelancing.

  1. Don’t Act Without Experiencing.

Without knowing how to swim, it is a foolish act to jump in the Sea. Therefore, without exploring the field, putting everything on risk never gives you fruitful results. This is how freelancing works. With exceptional skills and strategy, you can experience the fruitful outcomes.

In my journey, I first get familiar with what freelancing is, how people get clients, and how we earn money through it. Getting my first $100 through freelancing makes me believe that I could do well. Therefore, first, you need to evaluate the freelancing platforms, know your skills, and potential before quitting your day job.

2. Break Your Inner Fear by Setting High Aims

As it is said that shoot for the moon, and if you miss it, you will land among the stars”, therefore always set your aims higher. Once you set your aims, you get directions that break your inner fear. You won’t get disappointed if you don’t get scared of moving forwards. Just be cool as a cucumber 😊 and have patience.

3. Success Comes from The Failure

Keep in mind that no one on our planet never fails. Everyone fails, and those who are successful are the one which learns from the failure. The failure is the best teacher who makes you analyze your mistakes. Just remember to learn from your mistakes and keep on trying by adapting various ways. Success is the outcome of all those mistakes, which makes you realize where you are wrong.

How to Do Freelancing with Your Day Job?

This is the most common question many people asked. I know it’s quite tough to continue your day job with freelancing. When I started my journey, I first got familiarized with the freelancing platform and did projects for my different clients. Then, after years I decided to quit the job.

Similarly, you need to first enter into the freelancing world before quitting your job. Isn’t it difficult? Yes, you are right, but follow the key points mentioned below to do freelancing with your day job.👇

  • Spend Nights in seeking clients on freelancing platforms
  • Utilize public holidays, and Sundays by doing freelancing
